A Whirlwind Romance

Brittney signed up for FarmersOnly after having a tough time meeting new people in her town. After about 3 months on the site she had accumulated quite a large number of men in the "suggested" section of her page (about 600!). On a day she had a little free time she decided to sift through them to see what was out there. A photo came up of a man she thought was cute, so she perused his profile and clicked the "like" button.

On the other end of the "like" button was Kraig. Kraig had purchased property and was living in his dream location, but realized he was lonely and wanted to find a wife to share it with. When he saw Brittney's "like" he sent her a message asking what he should plant in his garden that spring, which caught her off guard as it was not a typical ice breaker question. She responded, and that's where their story began.

After chatting online for about 2 months, Kraig flew up to meet Brittney in the town where she lived. Brittney recalls, "I picked him up at the airport and when I pulled up I could not believe he was actually there to see me! Mind you, I had never kissed anyone in my life. He was so handsome and… we were both so happy to see each other! He walked straight to the car, threw his suitcase in the back, whipped open my door, and leaned in for my first kiss. His smile met my smile… and we clanked our teeth so hard my head hurt!"

Not to let an awkward first kiss ruin a beautiful thing, they made their way to the coast to spend time at a few beaches. "I got much better at kissing that day," Brittney jokes.

Brittney and Kraig met on FarmersOnly in the winter of 2019, got engaged in the spring of 2020, and got married that summer, in what Brittney calls "the best, craziest, and fastest year" of her life.

They had a little country wedding on a friend's property, overlooking a beautiful lake. Getting everything together, especially in the height of the pandemic, was difficult, but they pulled off a wonderful celebration despite the challenges.

Brittney's advice to others looking for love is to not be afraid to wait for the right person. "Don't lower your standards just because you haven't had any luck yet. It took me 3 months of talking to several different guys, getting my hopes up, and going days/weeks without anyone paying attention to me. Be patient!"
