Struggling to find success in the dating scene after her divorce, Brandy signed up for FarmersOnly on a dare.
Within 24 hours she had messaged with a few guys, but one in particular caught her attention.
She spoke to Kyle for hours every day, and eventually they exchanged phone numbers.
After two full weeks of talking for 4 to 6 hours a day, they decided it was time to meet in person. Kyle drove the 3 hours from Pennsylvania to upstate New York where Brandy was living. They went out to dinner, played some pool, then went to Brandy’s home where they sat on the porch talking for hours.
After getting to know each other better that first visit, they started taking turns going back and forth visiting each other every weekend, continuing to talk on the phone every day during the week.
Brandy says that within the first two weeks of dating Kyle, she knew he was the one.
“We shared the same thoughts and opinions on family and relationships. The one thing we both agreed to was that his and my children were to always come first. If one of us couldn’t visit the other on a weekend that was child-related, there was no guilt or jealousy on either side. Two years later, that’s still the motto.”
Their families meshing together well was obviously very important to them. Brandy laughs and shares that when her daughter met Kyle for the first time, she was convinced he was some kind of criminal because he showed up driving a 15 passenger van. They laughed and told her that he has a side job driving Amish families to their destinations - that he was in fact very sweet, not a criminal!
When Kyle brought his daughters to New York for the first time to meet Brandy, they went to the falls and walked the Watkins Glen Gorge, and they didn’t want to go home at the end of the weekend.
It was the perfect match.
After a year of dating and traveling between New York and Pennsylvania, Brandy moved to be with Kyle. On June 27, 2020, they tied the knot and became husband and wife.
While COVID-19 forced them change their original wedding plans, they proved that nothing can stop true love. They rented a cabin and celebrated their marriage with a simple, rustic, down home wedding surrounded by their closest friends and family.
Brandy’s advice is that “you’ll never know if you don’t try [FamersOnly.com]. I tried a few sites and was so disappointed in the results and the dates. I was hesitant about FarmersOnly but figured it was worth a try. Since then, I tell everyone who is looking to date to try it!”
